Coarseness sets how big members are relative to the model — part count and, since members are a fixed length, the finished size.

Fidelity is the accuracy-vs-effort trade. Lowering it lets nodes drift slightly off the surface and lets nodes that are nearly the same share one printed design, so you print fewer distinct parts.

Detail follows shape spends nodes where the shape actually turns instead of spreading them evenly, so detailed areas get short members and flat areas get long ones. It only pays off if you have ticked members of more than one length — with a single length there is nothing for the short edges to become. It does not change the node count; that stays Coarseness’s job. Leave it at 0 for even, repeatable parts: on a sphere, even is the honest answer.

The mm figure is node spacing — member length minus what each end gives up to its connector. Spacing sets the minimum build size: a closed shape is at least ~2 spacings across.

Straws are spec'd by OUTER diameter — the boss fits the smaller bore, so thinner-walled plastic gets a wider boss. The plastic wall is an estimate; measure yours before printing.
